Dear Family and Friends;
Greetings from Cedar Rapids, Iowa!
Yesterday I officially finished our “interpretation assignment” with a double-header visit to First Presbyterian Church of Waterloo in the morning, and First Presbyterian Church of Cedar Falls in the evening.
It’s been wonderfully exhausting and exhilarating during this “solo flight” of travels to churches, punctuated by staff development for all PCUSA regionally-based missional personnel. During the week in Louisville, Kentucky, we met at the same time as the Presbyterian Mission Agency Board. We also learned and deliberated and will soon be living out the realities of a newly restructured organization which includes downsized positions--- and yet we are still attempting to be more responsive to the critical needs of our global church partners like human trafficking.
I’m deeply grateful for my husband Juan--- who stayed behind to take of our daughter during this extended time away. Thank you also for your prayers for both of them, while I traveled during these past few weeks.
Attached is our most recent quarterly newsletter--- although by now, it’s already a few weeks late.
A word of personal thanks to all the individuals and churches who sent many gifts and cards for our daughter’s 4th birthday this past Sunday. A whole bag of goodies to celebrate with a second birthday celebration is definitely what I am looking forward to, when I get back to the Philippines this weekend.
Thank you again for joining us on this journey of God’s mission, of reconciliation, compassion, redemption, and justice.
Grace and peace,
Cathy, Juan & Aurélie
