We are a congregation of individuals seeking to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ as they apply to our daily lives, both within the community and outside it.

What Do We Believe

Northminster Presbyterian Church is a Protestant Christian community of the Presbyterian Church, USA. We attempt to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ as they apply to our daily lives. As Jesus shared God’s love with all, we welcome and include all people.

​We believe that we are on a faith journey which enables us to grow into a more loving and faithful community.

• We develop spiritually by intentionally sharing our diverse beliefs.
• We grow spiritually through community worship, music, small groups and service to others.

We believe in God’s commandment to “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

• We show our love by caring for and supporting one another within our community.
• We care for our neighbors in the local community and around the world through hands-on involvement, and by sharing our financial resources.​

We believe God created a diverse world for a reason and wants us to nurture, care for, and cultivate it.

• We believe God created all people as good, and asks us to share responsibility for the weak, the poor, the sick, the oppressed, and all who suffer.
• We honor God’s world and treasure all creation.

Northminster Presbyterian Church has been part of the Troy community for generations, striving to be a place where faith is explored with curiosity, compassion, and authenticity. We are a congregation of people from many different backgrounds and experiences who are committed to loving God, loving our neighbors, and serving our community.

As a Presbyterian church, we believe that God's grace is for everyone. We welcome questions, encourage thoughtful conversation, and recognize that each person's faith journey is unique. Rather than expecting everyone to have all the answers, we seek to grow together through worship, prayer, study, service, and meaningful relationships.

Our congregation values inclusion, justice, hospitality, and community. We are an affirming church that welcomes people of every age, background, race, ability, family structure, gender identity, and sexual orientation. Whether you have been part of a church your entire life, are returning after many years away, or are simply curious about faith, you are welcome here.

Beyond Sunday worship, Northminster is actively involved in serving our neighbors through local mission partnerships, community outreach, small groups, and interfaith relationships. We believe the church exists not only within its walls but throughout the community, sharing God's love through kindness, service, and genuine connection.
