Ministries:  What We Do

Part of serving our membership is fostering our own faith journeys, develop spiritually and grow into a more loving, faithful community by sharing our diverse beliefs through community and small groups.

Small Groups
Christian Youth Education

We believe in God’s commandment to “Love your neighbor as yourself.”  We care for our neighbors in the local community and around the world through hands-on involvement and our financial resources.

We believe God created all people as good, and asks us to share responsibility for the weak, the poor, the sick, the oppressed, and all who suffer.   See our Calendar and Events page for volunteer opportunities in the ministries shown below.

Gleaners Community Food Bank

Northminster volunteers annually to work at the Gleaners Food Bank outlet in Pontiac where we help with sorting and packing donated food which is then distributed to people in need in the Detroit area.

Volunteers of school age and up are invited to participate in these 2-3 hour work days, some on weekdays and some on Saturdays.

Troy-area Interfaith Group

The Troy-area Interfaith Group exists to invite all faith communities to gather, grow and give for the sake of promoting the common values of love, peace and justice among all religions locally and globally. We believe that peace among peoples and nations requires peace among the religions.

Northminster is one of the founding faith communities of TIG and proudly hosted the first TIG National Day of Prayer celebration in 2005. Our strong support continues.
